This is a great jacket that is well made. However, it doesn't work with the curves. It is tight in all the wrong spots (across hips, butt and thighs). It does have the flap that unsnaps in the back but it doesn't help. Bummer because the upper portion and arms fit well. Ditto on the complaint about the velcro. That is really not needed, especially up by where you would have a scarf. If you have a straight figure I would say go for it. I had to return it. It had to be red, long, non-bulky, and come with a hood. I found it! This coat is very stylish. It can be worn with dressy, casual, or lounge. It's insulated without all the extra bulk. It's big enough to wear with layers, too. Speaking of size, I ordered an XL and the sleeves are made for someone who has arms as long as their legs. But that's okay, it's not so bad with gloves on and even without gloves, it's still not that bad. I came across this coat and immediately loved the look and product description from the Merrell website. I read nearly all of the reviews in regards to durability and fitting and was pleased that a great percentage of customers were happy with the fitting claiming that it was true-to-size and able to withstand harsh winters. I studied the sizing information, chose my appropriate size, color of choice and eagerly anticipated the coat's arrival. Sadly, the coat was excessively big and the material felt rather thin and flimsy. I questioned how well it would have held up to harsh winters (perhaps fine since I'm use to wearing wool) but as for the size, I didn't know if I needed one or two sizes smaller and didn't want to pay for the additional shipping costs. So, the search for a winter coat continues. |
