It is heavy duty steel and has a weight limit of 300 lbs. It is a "folding" unit, though a little on the heavy side for a lady to handle... I did need a strong helper to unfold it, but I keep it set up so once was all that was needed. For safety (and this may apply to any rebounder or trampoline), from time to time the integrity of the attachment loops should probably be checked over the months as you use this rebounder, and it is wise after every (or every other) exercise session to check the tightness of the legs, which screw on to the frame and can work loose over time with use. I weigh around 170 lbs and my wife weighs a lot less then that, so the snapping springs were a clear sign of the quality of this product. Factory warranty is only 30 days, good luck getting it fixed.
