This does the job of keeping the wind from sweeping through my barn when the fan isn't running. If it was spring loaded it would be perfect. It flaps in the wind and makes a little noise, but my barn is far enough away from the house that I can't hear it. Just wanted to let folks know not to use one of these near where you sleep. It might be load enough to keep some folks awake. Functionally it is great though. It does what I need.

I purchased the Broan 433 to replace a plastic shutter installed many years ago. The swivels for the louvers of the plastic shutter had worn quite a bit and when the fan was running caused a loud rattling noise that permeated my small house. The Broan 433 is easy to install, outperforms the plastic shutter with regard to the amount of open area for the airflow, and has eliminated the noise associated with the plastic shutter. Because the louvers of the Broan 433 are lighter and require less force to open them, I am confident that it will be a long time before the swivels wear out as did those of the plastic louvers.
I highly recommend the Broan 433 based on quality construction, ease of installation, and performance.

We have to return it because it does not fit into the size. The product description on the demension is referring to the outer edge, but tehre is also a inner dimension where the frame need to be installed inside the wall but it never indicates on this product. so we do not know until we receive so it does not fit and we have to return it...too bad, other than that, the product looks ok but we never use it so not sure if it functions like it claims...
